2008 delegates to the FIAP Asian Philatelic Exhibition were placed at Grand Hyatt Hotel, it was another great experience for all the delegates. All delegates were please with the hospitality as provided by Taipei 2008.

After the successful organisation of Taipei 2005, Taiwan decided to organise another international exhibition in 2008, Not many countries are financially sound to organise an international exhibition in a short period of 3 years, Taiwan had done it.  The postage label vending machines dominated the exhibition hall, the postage label seemed to attract most of the modern collectors, they were crazy about these labels. I could see crowds were occupying these machines for the whole day。 I could not get a chance to try out a label for myself.

2005台北邮展成功举办后，台湾再次的举办2008台北亚洲邮展。许多国家多年来要举办一个邮展都困难重重，马来西亚阔别了92年亚展，自今还无能力举办一个亚展，然而台湾却是在3年里举办了2次邮展。在这一次的邮展厅内依然看到邮迷追逐邮资票，不停的坐在邮资机前打机。我想打几枚票收藏，然而排队长而给放弃了。

雅加达离马来西亚只有2个多小时的飞行程，机票相应也较廉宜，因此2008年的亚洲邮展吸引了许多的马来西亚邮友到来观展。邮展颁奖典礼在酒店大厅举行。。 马来西亚邮友穿著传统服装出席了晚宴。

Jakarta is only 2+ hours air distance away from Malaysia, comparatively, the air tickets flying to Jakarta is cheap, hence, 2008 exhibition attracted numerous Malaysians to have a short break at Jakarta and at the same time visiting to the stamp show. The Palmeres Award Night was held in the Official Hotel, Malaysians dressed in traditional attire at this official function.

2008 : Jakarta World Philatelic Exhibition 印尼世界邮展

It was a grand welcoming dinner held at the Mariner's Club, Jakarta with artiste performing on the centre stage.  I was sitting next to the stage, a philatelic colleague somehow gave me a push, I was already on the stage caught unprepared to sing a duet with the Indonesian Artiste . I had never stood on a stage to sing in a public arena. Fortunately, it was a familiar song which I had known since my childhood. I was able to sing through to the end of the song. Thank God ! I am telling myself, I have to be more cautious in the future, so that I will NOT be "forced"  on to the stage ... caught unprepared!

于雅加达风帆俱乐部举行的欢迎晚宴，我让集邮界同道推到台上与印尼歌手合唱一首“月亮代表我的心”。 我不曾站在台上唱歌，还好那是一首耳熟能唱的歌，尚能敷衍唱完。我告诉自己，以后的任何一个晚宴，我得警惕，以免在一个毫无心理准备的情形之下给推到台上去唱歌。。

雅加达亚洲邮展的颁奖仪式在“迷你世界”的一个午餐宴会上举行。。我从印尼集邮协会会长苏裕诺领取评审证书与奖牌。

Jarkarta 2008 had its Jury/Commissioner award ceremony held at the Miniature World Park, I had my Jury certificate and medal presented by the President of the Indonesia Philatelist Association, Mr. Soeyeno

2008年台北邮展又让我继2005年后再次踏入台湾，虽然上一次来过中正纪念馆走走，这一次由于孩子陪同而来，所以旧地重游。这一个台北地标似乎是大家必到的一个景点吧。

I visited Taipei Asian Philatelic Exhibition in 2005, yet again I was invited to the 2008 exhibition. Although I had visited  Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall during my previous trip in 2005, however, I made a repeated visit with my children who were accompanying on the 2008 trip. CKS memorial hall is a landmark of Taipei NOT to be missed.

In Jakarta 2008 Exhibition, I worked in the Jury team with the Team Leader - Mr.Chan Huei Lock . I always enjoyed working with Mr.Chan, he is a knowledgeable philatelist in all classes. I addressed Mr.Chan as "Sifu" for I had my first jury apprenticeship under his supervision，Mr.Chan was kind enough to part his knowledge and I must drop a line here to thank him for his support . I had later in many occasions worked with Mr. Chan and really enjoyed working with him. Above is a photo taken with Mr.Chan Huei Lock during the official visit to the National Museum of Jakarta.

2008年雅加达邮展，我再一次的和我的恩师陈为乐先生一起担任评审。 每一回在陈先生的领导之下工作，我丝毫没有压力。 陈先生的“专题”邮识卓越，从他身上可以学到许多的评审技巧。我尊称陈先生师父。 以上是我与陈为乐师父在雅加达国家博物院留影。

In 2008, I was appointed as a Jury member at Jarkarta 2008, which was held at the World Trade Center .. It was a great event to meet up with many philatelic old friends.  Above is a photo taken with Mr. Huang Min Zhou from Taiwan.

As a Jury team member, I had to go through with a team of 4 juries for an approximate of 35 exhibits and accorded with marks and awards in an exhibition, of course , the number of exhibits vary from exhibition to exhibition. It is a great joy to see new exhibits on display at each exhibition and it is an occasion to meet up with old friends in the global philatelic community.  I would say although judging exercise was hectic due to the tight schedule given, however, everyone seemed to enjoy with the fellowship in a Philatelic Exhibition.

一组评审团介于3至4人，每一个邮展，一组评审图大约需浏览35部邮集并给予评分嘉奖。每一回参与评审工作，虽然时间紧迫，但心里总有那一份成就感。 每一回的邮展也是我们一群集邮界里的老朋友小聚的时候。

This was the busiest exhibition I had for I was represented at Taipei 2008 as a National Commissioner and a Jury Member . I could NOT attend the Commissioner meetings and the Jury meetings which might be clashed in schedule, I had to forgo some of the commissioners' meetings by sending representative at the meetings for I could NOT leave the Jury team while I was busy judging the exhibits. A special honorary award presentation for the Jury and commissioner was held during an official sight seeing tour while we were having the lunch break at a Hotel.

这一届邮展是我最感觉压力的一个邮展，我有两个重要的角色要办 - 国家征集员和评审员。 征集员会议和评审员会议偶尔会在同一个时间里举行，我兼顾不了两个角色唯有委派代表出席征集员会议，因为在评审工作进行中，我是无法抽身的。 主办当局也为劳苦功高的征集员/评审颁发了荣誉奖状和奖牌作纪念。

For quite a long time Indonesia did NOT organise any international philatelic exhibition, the last Indonesia 2000 was cancelled due to a political disorder @ Jakarta. Glad to be at Jakarta as a Jury team member in 2008. An official excursion to the National Postal Museum was organised by Jarkarta 2008.

已有一段时间印度尼西亚不曾主办国际性邮展，记得最后一次该国所预期主办的 Indonesia 2000 都被迫取消，因为当时耶加达正处在一个政治动荡的时期。 很荣幸能够在2008年踏上耶加达之旅，担当大会的评审工作。 大会也为嘉宾们安排了参观国家集邮博物馆。

On Arrival at Taipei, being a Malaysia National Commissioner , I was rushed to Chung Hwa Post HeadQuarter to submit  the Malaysian Philatelic Exhibits before proceeding to check-in @ the official Hotel , Hyatt International. I was accompanied by my son and daughter on this trip to Taipei. At the Post counter, the staff were busy checking and verifying the exhibits which would be displayed at the World Trade Center Exhibition venue.

在抵达台北机场，中华邮政职员随即护送我们 （我和一对儿女）到中华邮政总部提交我携带来参加此次亚洲邮展的马来西亚邮集。 邮政工作人员小心翼翼的检收了邮集，就带我们到下榻的官方酒店 - 台北君悦 （Hyatt ) - 看看时间，已是晚上10.00了。
