每一次邮展，展场也有集邮讲座。世界各地的这一类讲座，来听的都不怎一般热烈，独是在中国，若要参与讲座，没预先订位，恐怕来到现场进不得了 - 要参加的人真的太多了。

Whenever there is a philatelic exhibition, there are philatelic seminars organised for the benefit of the philatelists. These seminars normally do not attract such a big crowd of audiences, however, the scenario of the China 2009 held in Luoyang, the response to the several seminars conducted were fully BOOKed , late comers were NOT allowed into the fully packed seminar hall.

The crowd at Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition flooded the exhibition hall. It was a difficult task to carry out judging  the crowd gathering in front of the frames, the noise discussion from the crowd was interferring with the Juries work. The juries therefore had to work beyond the closing time of the exhibition in order to complete the judging work within time.

洛阳世展的观众真多，大家围绕在展框前，大大的影响了评审们的工作，效率大打折扣。评审们无奈，只好超时工作，待展厅关闭了还继续地工作，以达到大会所规定的时限。

来到洛阳参加世界邮展，主办当局为嘉宾们安排的重点旅游就是到世界遗产地龙门石窟。这里可是人山人海，大家都是慕名而来，一睹龙门石窟的风貌。果然不需此行，爬上石级亲眼看到那石山壁的佛雕，真是叹为观止。

As invited guests of the World Philatelic Exhibition held at Luoyang, the organiser planned for us a trip to the World Heritage site - Longmen Grottoes. There were many tourists, local and foreigners alike, all come to take a look at the spectacular Buddha sculptures on the stone cave walls.

世界邮展评审工作繁忙，尤其是此届邮展，邮集特别多，单是专题组就有三百多部邮集要评审。评审工作分两组进行，每组各四位，负责评定150部邮集。我们每天工作12小时，从初评，重评，然后A，B组再对调评分审阅。往往在把工作完成后，真有个卸下重担的感觉。接下来几天，才可放轻松看邮展去了 。。

Work load for the World Philatelic Exhibition is heavy, this is especially true for the Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition where there were more than 300 exhibits to be judged. The Jury team was split into A, B teams responsible to go through approx. 150 exhibits for each team. We worked almost 12 hours a day, taking preliminary marking, repetitive evaluation, exchanging the results with the other jury team for verification of final marks. It was a real relief when the duty was fully completed, and I was able to visit the proper exhibition .

北魏世宗宣武帝景陵在洛阳市北8公里处，位于洛阳古墓博物馆西院，这是中国古代大型皇陵保护完好的其中一个。期待走入一个陵墓去探个究竟。看看我后方的那个丘，就可窥出这陵墓有多大。

This ancient tomb belonging to the emperor of the “Wei Dynasty" is located at approx. 8 km from the Luoyang City within the designated Luoyang Emperors' tomb Museum. The tomb was well preserved in its original state of condition. It was a pleasure to take a walk to discover the mystery within an ancient tomb of the Emperor of China. Look at the little heap of earth behind me, you can imagine how large a tomb it is beneath the ground.

This is the official limousine bus that accompanied us to and fro from the Exhibition center and the Hotel. The limousine driver was proud of the number plate of the vehicle which bore the number CG 0001, and told me that his boss had spent thousands of RMB to bid for the number.  I thought it is the Malaysians that are crazy for the number plates on their vehicles, now I know in other parts of the world, the people are crazy for numbers too.

就是这一部旅巴负责载送我们来回洛阳邮展中心和旅店。旅巴师傅很自豪的介绍这一部车子的号码 CG 0001，显然的是“天下第一号”，花了不少金钱给标了下来的一个金字车牌。我一直以为只有马来西亚人才对于车子的号码疯狂，现在我知道了，世界各国的人也对号码特别喜好。

洛阳世界邮展圆满结束，在钼都酒店颁奖典礼上，从亚洲邮联主席苏拉吉手上领取评审证书与奖牌。

At the closing ceremony reception held at the official hotel ballroom, I received the Jury certificate and medal from FIAP President : Mr. Surajit Gongtavana ( Thailand )

Luoyang - a city with new and old buildings was an important city centre along the Silk Route. An ancient Fort existed in the heart of the city with a tall watch tower guarding the traffic going in and out of the city. The fort is well preserved in its original condition ... I took the steps climbing up to the "ultimate platform" overlooking the city ...

洛阳是丝绸之路的一个主要中心，在洛阳老城中就有一个保存完整的“洛阳第一楼”城堡。我沿着石梯级爬上顶楼观看洛阳市全貌 。。。

2009 : A great experience to Shaolin Temple, Henan, China 嵩山少林寺走一回

One of the destinations of the official excursion organised by CHINA 2009 was a visit to the home of the Chinese Kongfu - Shaolin Temple. It was a great experience to visit the cradle which produces thousands of chinese martial art masters. I could see many young students from all over the country enrolled to be trained here, hundreds and thousands of them - it was a spectacular sight to watch these boys and girls practising Kungfu in the field.

洛阳世展的重点旅游项目是参观举世闻名的少林寺。这一次的少林寺之旅真是让我打开眼界，我的几个洋人同僚更是惊叹看到这么多来自中国各地的学生在广场上学习功夫。

It was a double International event held in April, 2009 in Luoyang - the World Philatelic Exhibition and the International Peony Flower Festival . I was lucky to have the opportunity to visit Luoyang at the correct season - the Peony Flower Blooming Season. Everywhere in the park, the Peony flower was blooming. This was the first time I had ever seen the flower, although, I had heard of the name many a times and seen it on many Chinese watercolor paintings.

2009年世界邮展与国际牡丹花节同时在洛阳举行，洛阳随处是一片牡丹花海，非常壮观。这是我生平第一次看到牡丹花，之前也只闻其名，看其在水墨画里绽放的姿采，真不愧是花中之王者也！

A Malaysian Exhibit arrived late to the Jury Room at minutes before the closure of the official Result, My Team Leader Mr.Chan Huei Lock advised to have the particular exhibit laid on the Jury Desk and Marks awarded accordingly. Mr. Chan Huei Lock, my sifu, was a flexible team leader, in normal circumstance, an exhibit arrived late to the exhibition hall will be put as out of the competition. I am sure the Malaysian Exhibitor who received the award for his exhibit arriving late to the exhibition hall, should be happy with the decision taken by my Jury Team.

一个马来西亚专题邮集迟了3天才到达展览会场，就在正式成绩揭晓之前，在我的评审组长陈为乐先生通融之下，我们几位评审就在枱上摆了邮集展页，一一评分。 一般情况，迟到的邮集都被宣判“出局”，然而随和的陈为乐先生还是乐意给予评分考量。这一位得奖的马来西亚集邮者应该感觉幸运高兴。

During the 2009 Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition break, I took a cab to the Luoyang City with a group of friends to take a stroll of the OLD city. The above building structure known to be the “Ultimate Platform" overlooking the ancient city of Luoyang has tall block walls constructed surrounding the city. The platform served as a security patrol station guarding the city . The entrance to the city would be closed during emergency.  It took many steps to climb up to the top of this platform.

2009年邮展期间，乘空档时间，邀了几个朋友 “打的” 到洛阳老城走一回。 攀上洛阳第一楼，高高在上眺望洛阳城。这一座几百年历史的城墙楼至今还保留得完好，让我们见证了中国古城门的风貌。

During the official trip to the Shaolin Temple, on the way back to the limousine bus, I was able to chat with the then FIP president Mr. Joseph Wolff. Mr. Joseph Wolff is a keen collector and promoter for Maximaphily. During his term as the President of the FIP, he had given great support to the FIP commision of Maximaphily, and it was during this period,  the hobby of Maximaphily achieved a marvelous boom with great increase of number of collectors esp. in China.  I noted Joseph Wolff had been so busy signing autograph at the lobby of the Hotel till late night ... He was so popular in China.

2009世展，游访了少林寺，回程到旅巴时与国际邮联主席约瑟.沃尔夫同行，有机会与他畅聊极限集邮的前景。约瑟.沃尔夫抱着乐观与积极的态度认为极限集邮将在日后日子内大放异彩。身为主席的他，在任时期落力的推广极限集邮。极限集邮也在这期间取得骄人的进展。在洛阳世展期间，我几次看到主席做在饭店大堂的桌前为邮迷们签封，签片，真是个获得中国邮迷大捧的人物。

An official excursion organised during the  Luoyang World Exhibition was a visit to the world famous Shaolin Temple. It was really an eye opener to witness such a large martial art school which had been existed since few hundred years ago. On approaching to the Shaolin Temple, we could see many martial art schools crowded with young students practising martial arts at the open squares. At the Shaolin Temple, a stunning martial art display was performed to entertained the guests.

洛阳世展主办单位安排了来自世界各国的贵宾到嵩山少林寺游览，这是我平生第一次来到少林寺，真是大开眼界。 走近少林寺的路上，可以看到林立的武校，广场上许多的学武学生在练武，气势磅礴。 在少林寺，我们观赏一段少林真功夫的表演。

洛阳世展所提供的官方饭店是一所5星级的国际宾馆 -钼都利豪国际饭店. 开始我一直对钼都这一个名字感觉好奇，后来才从洛阳人口中得知原来洛阳是世界上少数蕴藏稀有的钼矿物所在地。

The official hotel for the Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition was Lee Royal Hotel Mudu - a newly completed 5 star hotel. The name of Hotel "Mudu" caught my attention,  I was told by the local student that Luoyang is one of the few places in the world which produces the scarce mineral - molybdeum which is  known as "Mu" in Chinese, "Mudu" means The City of Molybdeum。

有洛阳钼都宾馆，乘邮展空档时间，我雇了出租车远到百公里外参观小浪底水坝去 - 一个建立在黄河源头的大水坝 。。。。风光明媚。

During a break @ Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition, I hired a cab to XiaoLangDi Dam for a visit. This a dam constructed across the Yellow River ... A spectacular sight indeed.

Glad to be able to work together with senior Jury members from all over the world at Louyang World Philatelic Exhibition。It was an opportunity to learn from these experienced Juries.

The official tour organised by Luoyang World Philatelic Exhibition took the delegates a visit to the Sui and Tang Dynasty old relic site (The Sui-Tang Relic Arboretum), it was an old city built upon this historical place which is now a big park with trees and flowers. Everywhere there are planted with little signs reminding the visitors to take care of the plants and trees in the garden.

洛阳世展为受邀的贵宾安排了观光节目，其中参观了隋唐遗址的所在地，目前是一座大规模
的植物园。 园里到处植树栽花，也可以看到许多可爱的小告示牌提醒游客们爱护园里的植物。

举办世界邮票展览之际，洛阳城到处可见街招广告，以上这一横幅可真够大了！横幅写道 “ Visit the World Stamp Exhibition, Meet in the Peony City”  “ 参观世界邮票展览，相会在牡丹花之城 ” - 这么样广泛的宣传一个邮票展览，除了在中国，或许很难在其他的国度里看到。

When I first arrived at Luoyang for the World Philatelic Exhibition, I was amazed with the advertisement posters and billboards for the  2009 World Philatelic Exhibition erected and hung in many corners of the city. I would say, the extent of the promotion of a World Philatelic Event will NOT be found in other countries except China.

Luoyang was an important ancient city on the beginning of the silk route, hence, it is a city with many historical relics. Just before the opening of the World Philatelic Exhibition, we made a trip to the nearby museum to take a walk into the past of Luoyang, one particular museum attracted me - the museum of the ancient tombs. We made our way into the underground tomb, exploring and experiencing an actual scenario of a burial ground of the dead, underground atmosphere was cool, dark and scary.  An ancient stone coffin was one of the key display in the underground chamber ...

2009洛阳世展开幕前一天，乘有空档时间，和马来西亚几个同僚到洛阳周边景点逛逛。 洛阳城是个古代城市，处于丝绸之路的起点，所以这一个城市到处都有古迹的踪影。 我们选择去参观洛阳城的古墓博物馆，亲身步入地下的古墓展览区， 一片凉意，感觉湿气度很高，真有点阴森的感觉。 展览区的重点是一副保存完整的石棺 。。。
