2011 World philatelic Exhibition @ Yokohama 2011 日本邮展东京游

2011 FIP World Philatelic Exhibition was staged at Yokohama, probably due to the higher hosting cost if staged at Tokyo. No matter how, Yokohama is NOT too far from Tokyo, rail transport to and fro Yokohama - Tokyo is easy. I took a full day trip to Tokyo visiting the many tourist attractions around Tokyo, selected a Park amidst of the Tokyo City to have a stroll , amazed with the proper maintained huge park located in a city centre. How nice to a such a large piece of green lung in a highly populated city.

2011 世界邮展选择在横滨举行，舍弃东京，或许是高昂的举办费用之故吧！尽管如此，横滨离开东京也不算远，日本铁道贯穿各大城市，乘搭很是方便。我选择了一天到东京各处旅游景点跑透透，也特地参观了在闹市区内的一些宫廷园，惊讶在商业高度发展的东京还保留着这些绿肺地，真难得！

Official Exhibition time started at 10.00 am,  at 9.30 am the officials were gathering in front of the main gate in preparation to welcome the visitors.

邮展开放时间有早晨10点开始，工作人员在9.30已经齐聚在正门前准备工作迎接到访的群众。

Yokohama World Philatelic Exhibition foreign delegates were arranged to stay at the official hotel at Grand Continental Hotel which was within walking distance to the Pacifico Exhibition Center.

日本横滨世界邮展安排来自世界的贵宾住宿于Grand Continental 5 星级饭店，从饭店到 pacifico 展览厅也只是数十步之遥。

The post boxes on the street of every country are different, all have their own styles. The post boxes of Japan are painted in RED.

I noted the Malaysia special stamp - the Glowing miniature sheet featuring the nortunal animals was selected to be displayed on the main  hall of the Yokohama World Philatelic Exhibition.

Strolling on the Tokyo street, saw this Sotong Ball street hawker, bought a set to eat, NOT bad the taste!

Boarded one of the famous Tokyo cruises, was able to see the many spectacular bridges and city views along the way ..

这一年邮展适逢日本福岛海啸事件，邮展受到牵连，当局低调主办邮展。向来有提供的评审团旅游项目都一一被抽起。我们只好自己乘电车到东京逛逛。来到了这一间传统寺庙 。。。

Japan was badly hit by Tsunami in 2011, the incident greatly affected the organisation of the Yokohama World Philatelic Exhibition. The budget had been cut , therefore, the original planned official tour had to be cancelled . I had no choice but to travel by train to Tokyo to have a personal one day tour. I stopped at AKAKUSA ... and this is one of the typical Japanese temple I had visited.

来到日本参加世界邮展，乘空时间来到商场逛逛，日本热门童玩专卖店到处都有，这一间POKEMON童玩点吸引了我溜达了个小时 。。。

Visited several shopping complexes during the Yokohama World Philatelic Exhibition, one of the Japanese cartoon figure "pokemon" attracted my interest, I spent hours in the shop looking at the many cute toys.

I went to several philatelic exhibitions, and most of these exhibitions, public internet access computers were provided at the exhibition venue to fascilitate overseas  participants. I noted only 2 number of computers were provided at the Yokohama exhibition , obviously, they were NOT sufficient to cater for the need of the participants. Long waiting time had been wasted to get hold of the computer.

我所到过的国际邮展，主办当局皆有提供免费的英特网电脑让世界各地的参展者使用。横滨世界邮展只有区区2台的电脑。这么多的人抢用这2台电脑，要排上好长的时间才轮到。。

For Every Philatelic Exhibition I went, I would use the computer provided at the exhibition venue to update the daily report of the exhibition. Look, I logged in the Philatelic Society Malaysia webpage whilst I was at the exhibition.

每去一个邮展，我都会利用主办当局所提供的电脑上网报导邮展的现况，把最新消息带回本国让会友们感受邮展的直播。

All the frames had been seen, it is time for going round the second time, a particular exhibit page caught the attention of the juries .

This heavy steel decorative structure outside of the Queen's Mall shopping centre looks massive, it is ONLY a piece of decorative display, does it worth to spend such a money?
