2011 : Yokohama World Philatelic Exhibition
Traveling in Tokyo is very convenient with the Tokyo Railway Network, tourist spots are located at the train or subway stations. I took a train to the Asakusa station and spent many hours on this "must visit tourist spot of Tokyo" . Within Asakusa, there is a landmark - The Five Storied Pagoda which was built in 1973 standing approx. 50+ meters high, and like all pagodas, running down the centre is a giant
pillar of Japanese Cypress tree wood. Around this, the five stories are
loosely packed, resulting in a highly flexible structure able to
withstand earth tremours.
